Book Week 2019

Book Week 2019 arrived at Al-Ameen College, and this year we celebrated the theme “Reading is My Secret Power.” It was an exciting day for everyone. Teachers, students and parents gathered at the school gym last week, dressed up in their favourite book characters. Fairies, Princesses, Superheros and so many other characters stormed the school. Even Chewbacca decided to visit us from planet Kashyyyk.

It was a fun day to celebrate the love of reading. Book Week has been the longest running children's festival in Australia since 1945. It is an initiative of the Children's Book Council of Australia.

Al-Ameen College library organised two Book Week competitions and prizes were proudly prepared by our Parents & Friends Association. The winners of superhero mask from kindy to lower primary and poster design competition for upper primary were announced at the assembly. All the participants did very well, and it was a tough decision selecting two winners from every level. Congratulations to all the winners!
